An original US advance one-sheet poster for Ron Howard’s acclaimed space drama Apollo 13 (1995), starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris. Featuring the beautifully simple image of the spacecraft travelling towards the Moon against the darkness of space, this atmospheric advance design is a superb poster from one of the defining films of the 1990s.
Released in 1995, Apollo 13 was both a major commercial and critical success, receiving nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and winning two. The film also immortalised the line “Houston, we have a problem”, which has since become one of the most recognisable quotations in modern cinema.
This original double-sided US advance one sheet was produced to promote the film ahead of its theatrical release. Its restrained design, exceptional cast and connection to one of the most remarkable episodes in the history of space exploration make it a particularly appealing piece of original 1990s movie memorabilia.
A fantastic poster for collectors of Apollo 13, Tom Hanks, space exploration and classic 1990s cinema.
